End user licence agreement
What you may and may not do with the software once it is on your server, and exactly what your installation reports back to us.

This document is a plain-language starting point and has not been reviewed by counsel in your jurisdiction. Have a lawyer review it before you rely on it commercially.
1. The licence
Subject to this agreement and to payment of the applicable fees, EveHM grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run Eve Host Manager on infrastructure you control, for the purpose of operating your own hosting or related business, within the limits of your plan.
The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
2. Plan limits
Your plan sets a maximum number of clients and staff accounts and enables or disables specific capabilities: API access, a custom portal domain, white label, and the reseller programme. The software enforces these limits locally. Exceeding a limit restricts the creation of new records rather than locking the installation, so your existing billing keeps running while you upgrade.
3. Validation and telemetry
This is set out precisely because it is the part people most want to know.
Your installation periodically contacts the licensing service and sends:
- Your licence key and the installation identifier.
- A server fingerprint derived from the machine it runs on.
- The software version and the result of its file-integrity check.
- Aggregate counts, such as the number of clients and staff accounts.
It never sends client records, invoices, payment details, tickets, domains or any other business data.
Validation does not require a live connection on every request. If the licensing service is unreachable, your installation continues to operate normally through a grace period before it begins to warn, so our availability is never a dependency of your invoicing.
4. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy the software beyond the installations your licence covers, or share your licence key.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Remove, disable, tamper with or circumvent licence validation, the integrity manifest, the per-licensee watermark or the usage reporting.
- Remove or obscure copyright or attribution notices, except through the white-label capability where your plan includes it.
- Rent, lease, resell or distribute the software itself. Selling hosting services you bill with it is exactly what it is for.
5. Anti-piracy measures
Builds carry a signed integrity manifest and a per-licensee watermark. Tampering is detected and reported. A build whose signature cannot be verified refuses to run. Validation patterns that indicate a key is being used outside its licensed scope are flagged for human review, never revoked automatically by a machine.
6. Your data and your obligations
Your database, your clients and your business records are yours. You are responsible for the server, its security, its backups and your compliance with the data protection and tax law that applies to you and your clients. You are the data controller in respect of your clients' personal data.
7. Updates
An active licence entitles you to updates for as long as it remains active. You apply them yourself, using the update procedure documented in your account. We do not push changes to your server.
8. Term and termination
This licence runs for the term of your plan and renews with it. It terminates if you materially breach this agreement, or if your licence lapses or is revoked. On termination you must stop using the software and remove it from your servers. Your data remains yours and stays on your server, and you can export it before you remove anything.
9. Warranty
The software is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error free.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability under this agreement is limited to the licence fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
