Privacy policy
The short version: this website sets no advertising cookies, the software runs on your own server, and we never receive your clients' data.

Who we are
EveHM publishes Eve Host Manager, self-hosted billing software for hosting providers, and operates the licensing service that issues and validates licences for it. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya. Contact us at hello@evehm.com.
The three places data can exist
Keeping these separate is the whole of this policy, so they are set out first.
- This website. Marketing pages. Minimal data, described below.
- The licensing service. Your account with us, your licences and your payments for them.
- Your own installation. Your clients, invoices, domains and tickets. This runs on your server, in your database. We have no access to it.
What this website collects
- Theme preference. Stored in your browser under
evehm-themeso the site remembers whether you chose light or dark. It never leaves your device. - Server logs. Standard web server logs including IP address, user agent and requested URL, retained briefly for security and diagnostics.
- No advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts.
- No third-party fonts or CDNs. Fonts and assets are served from this domain, so loading a page discloses nothing to anyone else.
What the licensing service collects
If you create an account to buy or trial a licence:
- Your name, email address and any billing details you enter.
- The domains you nominate for your installation, so the installer can configure them.
- Payment records. Card details are handled by the payment processor and never stored by us.
- Licence validation records: the licence key, the server fingerprint of your installation, the IP address it validated from, and its version. These exist to prevent licence abuse.
- Aggregate usage counts reported by your installation, such as the number of clients and staff accounts, used to enforce plan limits. Counts only, never records.
What we never receive
Your clients' names, contact details, invoices, payments, domains, tickets and support conversations stay in your database on your server. Your installation does not transmit them to us, and there is no mechanism in the software by which we could request them.
Where you are the operator, you are the data controller for your clients' personal data and we are neither a controller nor a processor of it.
Why we hold what we hold
- Contract. To issue, renew and support your licence.
- Legitimate interests. To detect licence abuse and keep the service secure.
- Legal obligation. To keep financial records for the period the law requires.
Sharing
We share data only with the processors needed to run the service: our payment processors, our hosting provider and our email delivery provider. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Retention
Account and licence records are kept while your account is active and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting rules require. Validation logs are kept on a rolling window sufficient for abuse detection. Website server logs are kept briefly.
Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write tohello@evehm.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes your ability to renew or validate a licence, and your installation will stop validating at the end of its current term.
Children
This is a business product and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, send an email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
